Division3 Cup News
Cup Final 2010 Result & ReportThe first silverware of the season was up for grabs at Witham Town on thursday 22/04/10 and a close game unfolded between two attacking teams, the first half there was little to choose between Cowboys and Woodham Radars as both teams had chances but could not convert them. The second half was off at a frantic pace and Cowboys knocked the ball around and had the better of the ball in the early stages, after a long ball down the left flank the ball was played across the edge of the box and on hand was Eddie Hart to smash the ball in the bottom corner and send the barmy army of Cowboys fans and players wild with delight, Woodham's response was to attack at every opportunity, midway through the half Woodham manager Reece Bayliss came on to add some variation to the Woodham play, a free kick was awarded to Woodham 20 yards out and Reece Bayliss stepped up only to fire the ball inches wide of the top corner of the goal, with the Radars trying to attack this left them open for the Cowboys to catch them on the break, no more goals were scored and the Cowboys in their first season in the league collected the division 3 cup, John Wiles nicked man of the match away from his Cowboys team mate Billy Ellis, well done both clubs on an entertaining game. The referee on the night was Martin Bircher, his assistant's were Dean Scott and Eugene Okonkwo and 4th official Perry Reed. Thanks to Witham Town for the use of their facilities.
