Officials Referee Joe Figg, Asst Referees, Martin Bircher & Frank Nkole. Match Report 13th May 2012PREMIER. Bicknacre hosted Wickford's home game as the pitches are getting harder to find, Bicknacre opened the scoring when Alex Broad found the net before the break for 1-0. Wickford Town Champions for the fourth year in a row pulled level when fit again Marc Collyer rifled home with his right boot for 1-1, Marc was on the score sheet again for the Town when he finished after good work and cross from Nick Strachan for 2-1, Town manager Dave Boakes made a 25 minute guest appearance as a sub near to his 57th birthday. Not to be out done one of Bicknacre's coaching brothers Paul Smith came on for the last ten minutes and with his first touch he set Alex Broad up for his and Bicknacre's second goal for 2-2, Paul showed all his old class, class I said, he was like an old Alan Devonshire in his day. Dave Boakes was doing his bit as well, he was like an old Billy Wright, all you youngsters ask your dads, in the last couple of minutes Town's Marc Collyer completed his hat trick for a 3-2 win in a sporting contest. At the whistle there were hand shakes everywhere and Town gaffer Dave Boakes was applauded off the pitch by both sets of players as he is knocking managing on the head at the end of the season, well done to both sides, Referee Scott Frain did ok as well.DIVISION ONE.Hutton managed to beat Cowboys 1-0 with Mike Doube scoring the one and only winning goal, all other games called off. Also the Division 2 Cup Final that was due to be played on Thursday the 10th May at Witham Town F.C.was called off aswell 5 A SIDE TOURNAMENT 2012This seasons tournament will be held on Sunday 17th June and once again will be at Broomfield FC. Note To All ClubsFurther to my previous webpage note, at the AGM on 29/6/10 due to the referee and pitch availability shortage I asked the team representatives present if they would rather have 3 divisions each week with a division dropped or all 4 divisions with fixtures allocated. The vote was clear that the teams would rather have 3 divisions a week as there is no guarantee of a referee or pitch availability if all 4 divisions were allocated a fixture. Hence as last year I will be allocating games to 3 divisions each week with a division sitting a week out. However if any teams request a week off I will endeavour to give them a match the following week if it is their divisions week to be dropped so they don’t have 2 weeks off and get behind with games. As there are 10 teams in each of the Premier, 1st and 2nd divisions every team should get a game unless teams request a week off. However in Division 3 we have the situation where one team has withdrawn leaving 9 teams so I cannot allocate every team a fixture every week they are due to play in this division. Sorry if this is not ideal but as I’ve said before it is impossible to please everybody all of the time. Also please note that if your team wants a week off for any reason please tell me well in advance. When the fixtures have been published I cannot and will not change them and if you tell me after fixture publication that your team cannot fulfil a fixture you will forfeit the fixture and be fined for non fulfilment as per league rules. Trev Williams Fixtures Secretary... MessageTo All ClubsIf you dont have a referee it is not good cause to postpone a game. If there is no ref appointed you MUST arrange a referee between yourself and the opposition team.. Please do not call me and ask if you can postpone the match. You cannot postpone a game because you dont have a referee, If you do the committee are likely to award the game against you and FINE YOU for non fulfillment of a fixture. Trevor Williams, Fixture Secretary. Clubs requesting a Fixture Free SundayAny club requestng a free Sunday , (before fixtures are issued) should put their request in writing , giving a minimum of eight weeks notice as per rule 10 (A) paragraph 3 to Trevor Williams the Fixtures Secretary. No team shall be able to request more than two free Sundays per Season. Telephone requests will not be considered.
